Celebration of Life – The New Bingley Hall
Overview
We were brought in to provide full technical production for a memorial service, with one clear priority: deliver a setup that felt respectful, calm, and supportive, while still ensuring every guest could clearly see and hear the tributes throughout the room. The client needed a strong visual centrepiece to display personalised imagery, messages, and tribute content in a way that felt meaningful — not distracting. The brief called for a Glowshine LED package (a 4m x 3m main wall with two 1m x 3m split columns) to create a clean, balanced backdrop that would work from every viewing angle. Lighting needed to be present, but subtle — adding warmth and atmosphere without overpowering the service. Audio was equally critical: the venue required a system capable of delivering consistent clarity for both spoken word and music, using a full-scale PA (12 line-array elements and four double 18” subs) tuned for even coverage rather than excessive volume. In short, the challenge was to combine LED visuals, lighting, and audio into one seamless system that enhanced the experience with care and precision — creating a heartfelt environment where family and friends could come together to honour and celebrate a life well-lived.
Solution
a) Planning & Creative Decisions
For this service, the priority was getting the balance exactly right: clear visual presence, delivered in a way that stayed respectful, calm, and unobtrusive. The aim wasn’t to “put on a show” — it was to create a supportive environment where family and friends could focus on the moment, while ensuring tributes and memories were visible and meaningful from anywhere in the room.
We planned the visual layout to feel clean and considered, using a main LED canvas for the key tribute content, supported by side elements to frame the stage area without clutter. Content pacing was treated as part of the experience — allowing imagery and messages to land emotionally, with smooth transitions that matched the flow of the service.
Lighting was designed as gentle atmosphere, not spectacle. We chose warm, controlled looks that added depth and comfort to the room, using movement sparingly and only when it supported the moment. Everything was timed to complement the visuals and music so the production felt seamless — present when needed, invisible when not.
b) Technical Delivery
To deliver the brief, we installed a Glowshine 4m x 3m LED video wall as the central visual feature, paired with two 1m x 3m split LED columns to create a balanced, framed backdrop. The LED display showcased personalised tributes, imagery, and messages throughout the service, ensuring every guest could clearly engage with the content in a meaningful way.
We supported the visuals with a subtle, dynamic lighting design using six moving head fixtures and six strobe panels. Lighting was programmed around warm washes and soft beam looks, adding atmosphere and gentle texture without overpowering the space. Where appropriate, cues were synchronised with visuals and music, ensuring smooth transitions and a consistent emotional tone from start to finish.
For audio, we deployed a full system designed for clarity and even coverage across the venue: 12 line-array elementsand four double-18” subwoofers. The system was tuned to keep spoken word and music clear, present, and consistent throughout the room — powerful when needed, but never harsh or distracting.
Our crew managed the entire technical process end-to-end — including truss and rigging, LED build and alignment, audio deployment and tuning, media playback, and live show control — with a focus on care, discretion, and precision throughout.
The final result was a heartfelt, immersive environment that supported the service beautifully, helping family and friends come together to celebrate a life well-lived.
